Jan’s Coat Closet
Before the coat closet, located in the living room beside the downstairs half bath, was being used as a coat closet as well as a storage closet. Because the bathroom has a pedestal sink there was not a lot of room for Jan to store her extra toilet paper that she buys in bulk.
Lots of blankets thrown on the top shelf of the closet will always lead to disorganization. Get as big of a bin as you need to put all the blankets in. Also, try to keep the blankets on the ground or at least below eye level so that you can easily put away folded blankets.
This specific project was done in front of an audience during an organizing party. Contact me to find out more details about the benefits of hosting an organizing party.
After moving the bulky sewing machine to a better location, preparing extra storage space in the bathroom for toilet paper, utilizing door space, and purchasing a few organizing bins, the coat closet became a functional area Jan and her family as well as guests can full appreciate and use.
